Kahoot! Learn to Read by Poio enables children to learn to read independently. This app, which has received numerous awards, has successfully taught over 100,000 children how to read by providing them with essential phonics training. By recognizing letters and their corresponding sounds, children are able to read and understand new words.

Kahoot! Poio Read takes children on an adventure where they must master phonics in order to save the Readlings. Children gradually learn letters and their corresponding sounds as they explore the game world. They will use these sounds to read increasingly complex words. The game adapts to each child's skill level and allows them to add every mastered word to a fairy-tale story, giving them a sense of authorship.

The ultimate goal is for children to demonstrate their newfound skills by reading the story to you, their siblings, or impressed grandparents.

The Poio Method

The Game Elements

1. The Fairy Tale Book: Inside the game, there is a book that starts off empty. However, as the game progresses, it becomes filled with words that unveil the mysteries of the fantasy world.

2. The Readlings: Readlings are adorable bugs that consume alphabet letters. They each have their own preferences and personalities, and children control them all!

3. A Troll: Poio, the main character of the game, captures the cute Readlings. He relies on their assistance to read the book he has taken from them. As children collect words at each level, they must spell them out in order to read the book.

4. Straw Island: The troll and the Readlings reside on an island, in a forest, a desert valley, and a winter land. The goal of each straw-level is to consume as many vowels as possible and discover new words for the book. An additional objective is to rescue all the trapped Readlings by completing phonic tasks that involve practicing letter sounds and spelling.

5. Houses: Every time children rescue a Readling, they earn the opportunity to enter a special "house." This allows them to take a break from intensive phonics training. Children can use the gold coins they collect to furnish and decorate the house while engaging in playful activities related to everyday objects and their corresponding subjects and verbs.

6. Collectable Cards: The collectable cards encourage children to discover new things and practice more. They also serve as a playful menu for accessing various elements within the game.
